Data Storage Consolidation

Storage Solutions require an in depth expertise in planning, specifying and installing. The sales cycle from concept requires Interaction between the client, the sales contact and technical contact throughout the whole project. At a business critical level we specialise in the HP and the Net App solutions. At shared storage level we offer multiple vendors

Storage Area Networking – SAN is an architecture that allows servers to attach to a shared storage device so that they appear locally attached. SANs typically run on two protocols, Fibre Channel and iSCSI. An iSCSI IP storage network is generally viewed as less complex to implement and maintain than Fibre Channel. There is also a cost differential between iSCSI and Fibre channel, though iSCSI currently does not scale to the same performance level as a Fibre Channel SAN.

Network Attached Storage – NAS hardware is similar to the traditional file server equipped with direct attached storage. However it differs considerably on the software side. The operating system and other software on the NAS unit provides only the functionality of data storage, data access and the management of these functionalities. NAS systems usually contain one or more hard disks, often arranged into logical, redundant storage containers or RAIDs (redundant arrays of independent disks), as do traditional file servers. NAS removes the responsibility of file serving from other servers on the network.

Direct Attached Storage – Direct Attached storage is directly attached to the server and with ever increasing drive sizes to allow for substantial capacity.
